CATHAY’S CHEQUE PRESENTATION TO RUMAH BARKET

21 May 2007

It has been an exciting start to a brand new year for Cathay Cineplex Johor Bahru City Square with their recent expansion to 10 halls on 21st December 2006. Gracing the occasion were Tunku Abdul Jalil Ibni Tunku Othman, Tan Sri Datuk Low Nam Hui and KRU.

During the opening weekend, RM1 from each ticket purchased at the new facilities was promised to Rumah Barkat. This morning’s event marks the presentation of the funds collected.

Today at level 7 of Cathay’s new facilities, it was with great pleasure that Cathay presented a cheque to the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Anak Yatim Johor as part of their contribution to the community. Cathay Organisation Holdings has always been associated with charitable community support both in Malaysia and Singapore.

Representing the Rumah Barkat was their Chairman Yang Berhormat Dato’ Hj. Abdul Kadir and from Cathay Organisation, Mr Suhaimi Rafdi, President of Entertainment & Leisure, Corporate Support and Asset Property Management divisions. “Cathay is pleased to have collected a sum of RM10,497 through the contribution of RM1 from each ticket purchased during the opening weekend when we launched our additional halls.” said Mr Suhaimi. “This certainly would not have been possible without the
continued support and contributions from the public. We are indeed glad to be doing a small part in helping those in need.”

As part of the expansion programme, Cathay promises to deliver more movies and more exciting offers to patrons. The Cineplex boasts state-of-the-art digital sound facilities, ergonomically designed seats with generous legroom of 1.08m between rows and double the number of “Couple Seats” with retractable armrests.
