Upclose & Personal with Gilamon

If you think comic is a kids’ stuff and it has got no good value for adults, then it’s time to change your mindset. For Julian Kam and Michael Chuah, comic is an art. Anyone can turn this hobby into a career. Both of them and Sau Lim are the founders of Gilamon.

In conjunction with the “Brave Story” release, Cathay Cineplex Prangin Mall was pleased to invite those animation or comic enthusiasts to meet, hear and learn from the experience industry player – Gilamon. The founders of Gilamon met their fans and shared with them why comics play such an important role in animation on October 6th Saturday afternoon, followed by a special screening of “Brave Story”.

“This is the first time we share our experience about comic in the cinema hall, showing our works on the big screen and hear our voice thru Dolby digital sound system. It’s fantastic!” said humorous Julian, also known as Lefty.

The participants were mostly art academy students who just couldn’t resist missing the opportunity to get up-close with Gilamon members and grab as many information as possible. Each of every 50 early birds who sent in their registration received a copy of Gilamon’s limited edition mini comic book. Besides that, all participants were entitled to the lucky draw and the 10 lucky ones walked away with collectible Dooodolls toys after the Q&A session.

The youngest participant, a 12 year-old-boy told us, “I asked my mom to register for me. I love drawing, especially comic. Furthermore, I’m left-handed too, so I wish to see Lefty personally and learn from him.” while he’s waiting for his turn to get Julian’s autograph.

“We are surprised and excited to see the responds and hope to have this kind of event again in the very near future.” said Julian and Michael after the event. For more info about Gilamon, you can visit http://www.gilamon.com/
