"Charity begins at home"

Petaling Jaya,14 August 2006 – “Charity begins at home” gets a new interpretation with One In A Million Top 8 Finalists together with TM Net Sdn Bhd, as they make a special appearance at Cathay Cineleisure Damansara this evening to spread some cheer and joy to 100 lucky youths from the Yellow House Society of Kuala Kumpur.

Alif, Azfar, Dayang, Faizal, Farah, Lokman, Suki and Zai all jumped at the opportunity to grant these kids’ wishes when the invitation was issued to them. They will spend an hour or so entertaining the kids’ before watching the movie.

8TV Chief Executive Officer, Encik Ahmad Izham Omar offers his thoughts on this meaningful One In A Million's Meet The Fans session, "I think it's really commendable and the natural thing to do that we take a break once in a while and celebrate life by offering our gratitude and appreciation to those who aren't as lucky as we are. Especially when we are right in the middle dealing with One In A Million craze-fever state now that we are moving closer to the final rounds."

Micheal Lai, Chief Executive Officer of TM Net Sdn Bhd said, "The OIAM finalists have touched the hearts and lives of Malaysians with their drama and singing battles on air every week. Offline, the participants continue to touch hearts by taking time out of their busy schedules to spend quality time with the underprivileged children from the Yellow House. This charitable gesture is a reflection of TM Net's philosophy where we care about the community in which we live and work in."

Dayang Nurfaizah bt. Awang Dowty,one of the well-know stars of the program offers her thought on the charity event, "It is important that we don't lose our focus on what's important in life and get too wrapped up in chasing our dreams that we forget to stop and think about the unfortunate ones around us. I am aware of how easy for things to slip by especially when it involves RM1Million that is up for grabs!"

The finalist will be accompanying the kids as they take part in the premier screening for the latest hit of the summer — MONSTER HOUSE.

Monster House, the latest 3D animation flick executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis has been receiving rave reviews for its clever and family-themed script is the perfect movie treat the kids and for the adults to enjoy.
