Cathay Cineplexes Introduces 8 Spanking New Halls 

Penang - Cathay Cineplex Prangin Mall is opening the doors of four new screens on 23 May, doubling the number of screens to eight and increasing seating capacity from 1,026 seats to 1,500 seats. As part of the expansion programme, the existing 4 halls and the overall interior have been given a facelift to offer only the best to our patrons who’ve been supporting us since first established in 1997.

The 8 halls feature state-of-the-art digital theatre sound system facilities and stadium-styled seating for an un-obstructive view. We’ve doubled the Couple Seats in new halls with existing Opera Seats with retractable armrests providing spacious and comfortable sittings.

We have also added another new concession counter which is strategically located at the main foyer across the new halls 5 to 8 for the convenience of the moviegoers. Thus, reducing long queues at the existing concession counter or stopping by for impromptu snacks cravings in jiffy!

New in our facility lists include our luxurious Preview Lounge, an ideal place to host corporate and social events prior to exclusive movie screening complemented with catering services. Added features are 2 plasma TVs and sofas overlooking the fantastic view of Georgetown City.

We have also refurbished Cine Lounge as waiting area, equipped with sofas and chairs, pool tables, juke box, vending machines, plasma TVs and Free Internet Surfing.

Apart from that, our patrons can also opt for online internet booking facility other than phone bookings for easy and hassle-free tickets booking. Of course, throughout it all, Cathay Cineplexes Prangin Mall will continue to provide friendly and quality service to further enhance the movie-going experience.

As part of the group’s new initiatives , Cathay Cineplexes has launched the Ambank NexG-Cathay Cineplexes Prepaid MasterCard where cardholders will get to enjoy a host of benefits and privileges such as one complimentary movie ticket which can be used immediately for any movie upon sign-up for the card, a birthday treat of one free movie ticket and promo popcorn, plus 10% off food and beverage.

On the opening night of the new halls on 23 May, we will feature special screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End for all the guests, as an appreciation for their support and looking forward to their continuous support, with our expansion offering better and quality products for our patrons and corporate clients.
