Aaaarrr..... A Treasure Huntin' We'll Go!
It was 'all mates on board' at the MYSOJam Fest on a sunny saturday afternoon, 15th of July. The 'Pirate-ty' affair was held at Cathay Cineplex Damansara for the fans of the sequel Pirates of The Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest (note: Johnny Depp is so hot!). Treasure hunters started queuing up at 5pm. The first 50 teams to register were given goodie bags with a Cathay Shoe Bag, exclusive vouchers, Pirates of the Caribbean Bandana and also 2 movie tickets to watch Pirates of the Caribbean that very night - and to top it all off, the 2 member teams were also treated to free body painting.
The objective of the hunt was to collect the most 'stamps' (each converted to points) on a 'Pirate's passport' at various floor levels in Cathay Entertainment Centre. Teams were given clues at each location on where the next location is. Bonus points were given to teams who had collected 3 specially marked 'treasures'.
2 hours (and lots of sweat) after that, points were tabulated and the top 13 teams gleefully carted away fabulous prizes amounting to nearly RM15,000 - all generously sponsored by Kenneth Cole, Lazo Diamond, The Royale Bintang Damansara, Retro Productions & Wrigley's.
One hundred seventy six DiGi customers entered the Cathay Cineplex Damansara outlet at Cineleisure Damansara early on Friday, July 28 to participate in the DiGi presents Cathay Ultimate Movie Marathon. Their goal was to set a new world record for consecutive movie viewing without sleep, while vying for a cash prize of RM10,000.
Instead of celebrating with rum that evening, the winners were treated to a screening of Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest. To sum it all up, Captain Jack Sparrow would quip — "Everythin' went a 'savvvvy...'".
